Riley Hayes
Youth Instructor
Riley’s greatest joy comes from igniting the same passion she feels in the outdoors to the children she works with. The curiosity and adventure fostered in outdoor exploration brings a kind of growth that cannot be found elsewhere.
Riley’s love of art and creativity are shown in her work in the outdoors. Using the things around her to create and problem-solve helps build her resourcefulness and adaptability. These practices have been proven vital to Riley as an experienced traveler and explorer. Painting, sculpting, and writing are amongst the other forms of creativity she enjoys outdoors. Riley also uses her specialty in outdoor media to share her reverence for the environments around her. An avid environmentalist, she is always happy to share fun, easy, creative tricks to make things easier on the earth.
Whether climbing, mountain biking, skiing, kayaking, rafting, hiking, backpacking, flyfishing, camping, or whatever the wind blows her towards, she continues to learn and grow stronger from the challenges she faces outdoors. The love of those experiences drives her to share the essence of those experiences with others, especially younger generations.
Her adventures may become more intense, exotic, and unpredictable, but Riley’s same childlike barefoot curiosity remains.
Riley grew up on the Little Miami River in Ohio, where her love of barefoot curiosity in the outdoors was born. Riley moved to Utah in 2018 and graduated from Westminster College in Salt Lake City in 2022, majoring in Communication, with an emphasis on outdoor media, and minoring in Outdoor Education and Leadership. She took advantage of her opportunities by learning how to recreate in all the new ways the west offered and found an endless love of new experiences.
